Tall case brass dial clock, ca. 1740-1750.

Pine tall-case clock. The hood has a molded flat pediment with a glazed door with a square opening. Waist with compound molding at the top and a paneled case door with a circular glazed peephole. Plain board joining waist and base. Paneled base section with molding at the bottom and a plain baseboard. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and applied cast ornament in the spandrels. Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture. The chapter ring is signed "Edw Duffield Philadelphia." Single hour hand. Thirty hour movement.
